Zachary Quinto talks up the new 'Star Trek' DVD

While Zachary Quinto cracked not much more than a knowing smirk while playing Spock in director J.J. Abrams’ re-vamped Star Trek – out on DVD Nov. 17 — “we did do plenty of laughing off camera,” chuckles Quinto. Anyone who’s seen the leaked gag reel from the movie that’s an extra feature on the impending DVD (it’s out Nov. 17) knows what he’s talking about. “J.J. leads with a sense of humor,” Quinto adds, “and that makes it a lot easier when you’re undertaking something as large as this project was.” So who had Quinto cracking up the most? “Simon Pegg was a big culprit in making me laugh all the time,” Quinto says, but he also singles out co-stars Chris Pine, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood and Karl Urban. “It’s really a funny group of people.”

In one of the making-of documentaries on the DVD, Quinto also talks about when meeting his on-screen namesake for the first time, the very first thing Leonard Nimoy told him was that his life was about to change rather radically. So, has it? “No, not at all,” Quinto laughs, although he’s not joking. “I don’t know — maybe I should be chased down the street by rabid Star Trek fans. But I engage fans on a personal level, and I engage them as myself, [not as Spock]. It’s really important that those boundaries are clear, and that’s always been the case in my life. It seems to be working.” Hopefully, that means Quinto’s career will live long and prosper.

Out for another stop on their Stateside promotional tour, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz were all smiles at the Westfield Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, Illinois on Tuesday (November 10).

The “New Moon” co-stars spent the evening greeting fans and signing autographs, also taking turns on the mic to chat with the sizable crowd gathered around for their appearance.

Céline Dion isn't pregnant after all – but will keep on trying for a second child.

"We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use [IVF]. The process can be long and arduous," Dion's husband René Angélil, 67, told the Canadian paper Journal de Montreal of their failed attempts. "But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever."

Forty-one-year-old Dion's doctor announced that she was pregnant via in vitro fertilization very early in the process, and it is now revealed that the embryos transferred in August and October were unsuccessful.

"Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn't the case. We found out some days later. We were shocked," said Angélil. They quickly tried again to get pregnant, but were unsuccessful, he added, "But you know Céline. She doesn't let go."

Hey guys, I'm a newbie to the community so just thought I'd throw in a story from past experiences working in a hospital, and make an addition to the group.

Recap: I used to work as a medical secretary in an emergency clinic in Wales. This is a pretty errr, usual story... just to warn you.


Was in the office one day getting on with my usual daily routine. The phone rings and the conversation goes something like this:

If you were a fan of the series of “3 Men and a…” films – and really, who wasn’t? – you will be absolutely crestfallen to learn that a rumored “3 Men and a Bride” sequel will not be happening.
 

Get a hold of yourselves, people.
 

The rumor began last week when franchise star Steve Guttenberg told the news agency Wenn about the purported project, adding, “Nobody knows about it. I’m the first to talk about it.”
 

Well, that is entirely accurate. He is the first to talk about – and nobody knows about, most especially the two other men –  Ted Danson and Tom Selleck – who would be starring in it. Danson’s rep told Gossip Cop she hadn’t heard of plans for a third “3 Men” movie, and Selleck’s spokeswoman flat out said it was “not true.”
 

For the time being, we’ll just have to hold out hope for another “Look Who’s Talking” film.

Well, maybe the rumor might set things in motion.
WHY SO SOURCELY

Is anyone other than Oprah Winfrey allowed to have an "aha! moment"? Apparently so -- but it's best to get her blessing first.

Mutual of Omaha has withdrawn a lawsuit aimed at establishing its right to use that phrase in an advertising campaign after reaching a settlement with Harpo Productions, Winfrey's media company. Terms of the settlement were not made public, and neither company is saying much, but as of now, a website promoting the campaign is still online, complete with the disputed tagline "Mutual of Omaha: Proud sponsor of life's aha moments." The site features videos of real people talking about the epiphanies that changed their lives for the better.

After Mutual of Omaha first rolled out the campaign earlier this year, Harpo objected, saying the phrase was firmly associated in the public mind with Winfrey, who frequently uses it on her show. Never mind that the Nexis news database turns up thousands of articles containing the term "aha moment" with no reference to either Winfrey or Mutual of Omaha that date back more than 20 years. Rather than ditch the campaign, the insurance company responded by petitioning a judge to affirm its right to use the phrase, and revealed that it had already received preliminary approval on an application for the trademark.

The cease-fire comes just as the future of The Oprah Winfrey Show is suddenly in question following a report that Winfrey plans to end the syndication deal under which it currently airs in 2011 and relocate it to cable, where the Oprah Winfrey Network is moving towards a long-delayed launch. CBS chairman Leslie Moonves said Monday that CBS Television Distribution is still in talks with Harpo and hopes to extend the show's run on broadcast TV.

Dear sir,

What the hell do you hope to accomplish by repetitively phoning in and screaming at my staff to cancel your contract?

We can barely extract even the tiniest morsel of information about what the site is, and it is herculean an effort to verify who the hell we are speaking to.

And, once we've verified who it is we are speaking to, you typically hang up before we've even had a chance to look at if we can do anything for you. According to the notes on the few times you have deigned to lower yourself to explain what's going on, we have a list of various complaints, all of which contradict.

Apparently we should be putting you with company A, B, C or D for your contract - which one depending on the tide and what you had for breakfast it seems, and are upset we aren't.

You're upset that we're not company A, B, C or D, but an independent company selling their service. You want to go directly with that company, which one it is that day depending on some random factor to do with the phase of the moon and what music I was listening to on the way into work that morning.

You're upset that you have to have a utility contract seems the only definite article in any of your complaints. That's a sure way to pay through the nose or have your wallet forcefully taken advantage of by greedy electricity suppliers who can (and will) charge you're ignorant rear-end an unlimited amount for your supply.

Please, just either quit calling us, wasting all our time, since we feel we're monopolising your abilities to be an ignorant arse, or else let us actually deal with your complaint and cancellation request, so we no longer have to keep having the same beginning of a conversation with you.

Catwalk cattiness has claimed a victim!

Australian supermodel/sometimes actress Gemma Ward is quitting the modeling business amidst criticism about her weight, the model's agency told the Daily Telegraph.

The 22-year-old beauty has been the subject of Internet taunts after being spotted with a fuller figure last week, the paper reports.

Photos of the more voluptuous model surfaced online, and comments poking fun about her piling on the pounds reportedly followed. (In related news, we've taken away Karl Lagerfeld's laptop.)

Ward has been the subject of fierce scrutiny about her weight since she took a break from modeling early last year in the wake of rumored boyfriend Heath Ledger's death in January 2008, according to the paper,

Clearly, the attacks have taken their toll.

"Gemma hasn't committed to returning to modeling any time soon," a spokeswoman for her agency, Vivien's Model Management, told the paper.

Ward's weight gain made headlines this past January when she hit an Australian beach in a bathing suit that showcased her new curves.

"I was really surprised when I saw her, considering what she used to look like," a source told the Sunday Telegraph at the time. "I had to do a double-take after I saw how much weight she had put on."

While there's no doubt that Ward has put on some weight, we think the public needs to cut her some slack -- we'd rather see bodacious than bony any day! Besides, these days, the catwalk is showcasing varying body types.

The Good Samaritan who found the script for "Twilight: New Moon" in a St. Louis dumpster -- and then returned it -- says the reward she got from the movie's production company is actually costing her big-time in the end.

Casey Ray tells TMZ she's grateful Summit Entertainment coughed up two tickets to the film's L.A. premiere and after party on November 16 -- but the cost of traveling expenses is biting her in the behind.

Ray says the round-trip tickets for her and her niece cost $1,200 -- plus another bundle to pay for a hotel and whatever other expenses the duo happens to rack up.

We spoke to a rep for Summit who says Ray's complaint comes as a complete surprise. The rep said Ray had no problems with the reward package -- which also includes a walk down the red carpet and a signed copy of the script by the movie's lead actors -- when she agreed on it back in May ... and Summit hasn't heard a peep from Ray since
